US$ Price Increase

Official Announcement on the Increase of Prices of IRLP Products in US Dollars

IRLP - Keeping the Radio in Amateur Radio

Vancouver, BC:  October 29, 2007

Due to the continued weakening of the US Dollar against the Canadian dollar (and other currencies), I have been forced to increase the cost of IRLP products to the users buying in US dollars, and to reduce the cost to Canadian purchasers. I have tried to keep prices the same, but with a 55% decrease in the value of the US dollar against the Canadian dollar, it has forced me to raise the prices of goods sold in US dollars.

When the prices were originally set, the US dollar bought $1.55 Canadian. Today the US dollar buys $0.96 Canadian.

The difference in value is significant enough that with the rising costs of freight and semi-conductors, the old price scheme was no longer sustainable.

Effective immediately, the IRLP products will be priced in US$ as follows:

IRLP Interface Board

$105

CentOS based IRLP CD

$ 25

Shipping  (no change)

$ 18

The suggested donation to the project is also increased to $40 US, to match the Canadian suggested donation.

Please understand that this is not an increase in the profits of IRLP in any way, and it is totally driven by the market conditions of the American and Canadian dollar. If, in the future, the market conditions change the value of the American dollar against the Canadian dollar, adjustments will be made.

If you have any questions about the increase, please contact me at dcameron@irlp.net .
